Making Begslist Safe for Our Community

Thanks to those of you who responded about the Begslist Testimonials and we appreciate the feedback about your Begslist experiences. We heard about both great experiences and some bad ones.

We are listening to your input and wanted to let you know we are working on new ways to make our Begslist Community a better place. We believe in People Helping People.
We know that many of you said that you may have been contacted by spammers or scammers. We are in the process of setting up a verification system that will make people who are contacting Begslist users to verify themselves. We will block people from specific spam countries like Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and other countries known for scams. We will also block people from our system who are mass emailing our users more than 5 times. We are taking more measures and making it a priority to make our Begslist website a safe site for everyone.

We really want to hear from you. If you have been contacted by individuals that may be questionable or if you want us to check them out...please send an email to help4u@begslist.org. Also, we appreciate any suggestions on how to make Begslist a better place.

While we are in the process of setting up our verification system and safety measures...join in on the experience of People Helping People and please share your experiences with others to warn them by posting the questionable person's email, what they were asking of you and share their contact information on our sister site www.Scamslist.com. That way our Begslist Community can see scammers who are contacting mass amounts of people to see if anyone will bite.

Also, many Begslist users contact us about people who send them emails offering to help. The original emails of potential people willing to donations GENERALLY, ask the Begslist user for the "FULL" name, address, contact information, bank information and account number....these of course are scams. Play it safe and accept payments through PayPal only and do not accept anything else (check, money order, wire transfers are big red flags).

Things to look out for when receiving emails from people offering to help:

- Check the sender's country or location through their email address or where they say they are from. Most SCAMS come from Nigeria, Benin, United Kingdom (UK), Japan, Liberia and other African countries. Also, if they type their email in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS....it most likely is a SCAM!

- If someone asks you to mail them money either before or after..IT IS A SCAM! If they want to send you a check and then ask that you send a portion of the money back...IT IS A SCAM! If you deposit these checks, after 10 business days your bank will return the check back to you with a big red stamp on it that says, COUNTERFEIT.

- If someone emails you and asks for your full contact information...IT IS A SCAM! (i.e. - "YOUR FULL NAME, PHONE AND FAX NUMBER,ADDRESS WERE YOU WANT THEM TO SEND MONEY TO, YOUR AGE AND CURRENT OCCUPATION, A COPY OF YOUR IDENTITY ATTACHED TO E-MAIL")

- If they say they are a Chairman, Deputy, President, Doctor, offers a Business Proposal or say you won a Lottery and ask for your FULL NAME and other contact information it is a SCAM. - Accept money only through sites like PayPal. DO NOT Accept checks, money orders, or do wire transfers. WE CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE THAT RECEIVING A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER FROM A STRANGER WILL COME BACK COUNTERFEIT AFTER YOU CASH IT! For safety, DO accept e-checks and payments through PayPal.

PAYPAL IS YOUR SAFEGUARD TO RECEIVING DONATIONS AND IT WILL HELP YOU AVOID BEING SCAMMED.
