Altruism: An Act That Makes The World Better

People are suffering in every country and sometimes it is hard not only for the people that need help but also for others who can’t bear to see people who are in dire need. Many people believe in altruistic behavior and do random acts of kindness for people, animals, and mankind. They want to make a difference by ensuring that they are doing something good to make others happy without expecting anything in return. This is where the concept of altruism comes in.
There is a difference between thinking of doing good things for others and the altruistic act of doing the good for those who need it. There might be many challenges in between before you can do what you want to do for helping strangers with altruistic actions. There will be criticism about doing good to be good and your act of altruism. People might think that if you help others, you are really expecting something in return even altruism makes you feel good. Skeptics might see that you have some interest in getting something out of your random acts of kindness or altruistic behavior. The challenge is to overcome all these skeptical thoughts by believing you can actually support someone else without expecting something in return. This is what altruism is all about.

AN OUTSTANDING WAY TO DO WELL

If you search history, you will find hundreds of such examples where altruistic acts have made an impact in the life of others. Norman Borlaug has the credit of saving millions of lives with his research of disease-resistant wheat. He had made an impact in the Green revolution and to those people lives who are still reaping the benefits.
There are many other people like Irena Sendler who has saved 2,500 Jewish children from the Nazis by providing them with false documents for identification and smuggling them out of the Ghetto.
These people are unnoted heroes who had done something without the want of taking any credit. They may have been at the right time at the right place. There are others who are still doing this and making a positive impact on the life of others.

WORKING TO DO GOOD

Altruism teaches people to be kind to anyone who is in front of you. If you want you can donate every year for providing education to children under poverty. That is good, but you can do beyond that too.
Many efforts are taken by various people around the world that has made this world a better place to live. They have taught that by extending a helping hand what you do is create the bonding between those hands that holds the extended hand.
One can try to fight extreme poverty that is taking a toll on many countries of the world. People are not able to feed their children even once a day. Giving them food to supply is a solution but not a permanent one. An altruistic person will do something that will help those people to earn something to feed their children and not depend on the donation.
