I started a business back in 2004 and I went out of business in 2006. I managed to rack up bills estimated around $224,000. Some of these bills are personally guaranteed under my name ($72,000). There are a few companies that are suing me and I found out the police are looking for me to serve me supeonas. I contacted a couple lawyers and they said the only thing I can do is declare both business and personal bankruptcies. In order to do this, it will cost me around $5000 and the lawyers want $3350 up front to get started. I maxed out all my credit cards and I have no savings. I just got a full-time job, but right now I am struggling to pay for my mortgage and other bills. I can't even afford to pay the lawyers to get started on the bankruptcies, so I don't know what I'm going to do. If you know of any lawyers that are willing to start the bankruptcies under installment payments and nothing down or if you would like to donate to my situation, I would really appreciate any help you can give. I am a hard working, single mom who has been struggling to keep the bills paid, and my son in a school that meet his needs. My wife and I adopted Rachel in 2002, when we both were working as Police Officers. We knew she had Spina-Bifida when we adopted her and wanted to provide her with a loving home. My wife had to quit to take care of her, then I suffered an off duty back injury and was let go after 18 years of service. Since then we have lost our home, I have found employment but it is not near what I made then. My wife works , but since Rachel is sick alot, she misses alot too and does not get paid. We are both hard working and do not regret adopting Rachel at all. Her smile keeps us going. She has a list of medical problems and is only 5 years old, due to a hormonal imbalance she was on steroids and is now 88lbs. It is all we can do to lift her in the car or out of the tub. My boyfriend and I are in a very desperate situation and have no where else to turn. I'm a recent college grad who's not been able to land permanent employment yet. Our problems stem from 1 or 2 years ago. My boyfriend was unemployed for a while and received unemployment compensation from the state. After he found a job, he was told he had to repay the compensation, but then he lost the job he had. Since then, he has been unable to make any payments.
He recently relocated out of town for a family emergency and decided to move back a couple months ago. He has been unable to find a job for several months because of the unemployment repayment issue on his record. It's reported as fraud and no one will even give him an interview because of it. How is it possible to repay if it's keeping him from getting a job? Without a job, he hasn't been able to pay rent, phone bill, or even buy groceries for months. It has caused irreconcilable conflict within his family.
I'm usually the one who helps him when he's in need, but I'm at the point where I can't afford it anymore. While struggling with my own bills and helping my boyfriend, my car caught on fire and I had to use an entire paycheck to get another one. I had no savings when this happened and am now behind on every bill I have. Everytime I get a paycheck, I have to choose which single bill I can afford. After buying a small amount of groceries, my whole check is gone. That doesn't even include credit card debt, phone bill, etc. I am one check away from being homeless. No one will give me a loan because I have very little credit, and the credit I do have are past due accounts. This is very sad and I never thought I'd be in a situation like this. Please help. I lost my business due to the current economic situation in Michigan in March of 2007. It has taken me months to find a job but hoorayI finally have. The problem is that I have exhausted my savings and I am behind on everything. With my current earnings I will fall short about $1000.00 this month. I am in dire need of assistance. I have a full time job and an 8 months old baby. I have gone to social services and was denied because I "make too much". I work full time and also parttime doing data entry and to make ends meet, I am taking on another job starting next week all while tending to my daughter. It is heartbreaking when my daughter needs shoes and clothes and I am unable to because I just don't have it. My mom buys a good majority of her clothes. Whenever I need diapers or formula, she is there to buy them for me.
My husband has owned his own business since 1996 but things are slowly but surely going downhill. He doesn't have much business which means and I am the main money maker. After several years of being ill and a liver transplant, My husband was in the hospital awaiting his second liver transplant when he died. Almost one year to the day my nephew was killed in a car accident. I took of a week off work with my supervisors approval, to help my sister making arrangements and to get through this tough time. My employers sent food and flowers for the fureral. When I went back the next week I was told that I no longer had a job. That "home office" did not authorize my leave, because my nephew was not Immediate family. I used what little cash I had and a credit card to help pay for the funeral. and now I had no job.
I had a really hard time finding work, so I relied on credit cards and got behind in my bills.
I finally found a job but it was at less money than I had previously made, and I just can't get caught up. I am living shutoff to shutoff.
Now its almost December and along with my other bills, my property taxes and car registration are now due. Not to mention Christmas.
I can manage my bills on what I make, I just can't get caught up.
My girls have not had anything for Christmas for the last 3-4 years due to high medical bills from my husbands illness. They have not even asked for anything this year, and that really breaks my heart, because it means they are not expecting to get anything.
They have been through so much in the last couple of years, but expecially this last year. They both need basic things like clothing, shoes, jackets.
Please if there is anyone who could donate even a little, know that it is being used by a family that has gone through some very tough times and is just trying make it. I have always tried to help where I could, so please know that I will pay it forward.

Hi, I'm a 50-year old Irishman living in Ireland. I have worked hard all my life in the high-tech sector and always paid my way. I have a beautiful wife wife and 3 great kids.
My wife and I decided before the birth of our first child (10 years ago) that she should leave work and devote her energies to raising our kids.
We both believe strongly that children should be reared by parents, not shunted into creches (kindergartens) to be raised by strangers at the most formative years of their lives. (BTW:The Government here actually punishes us via the taxation system for doing this!).
Similarly we thought a move from the city to the country would be good for all of us, especially the kids - free from the drug culture and other lawlessness that goes with modern city living ...
We decided several years back to build our own house in the country. We struggled with planning regulations, unreliable builders(they have far too much work to choose from in Celtic Tiger Ireland), suppliers not to mention raising the finance. About a year ago the building was approaching a close when I was dealt the body-blow of being made redundant when the company I worked for closed their European operations. Money was very tight, and to get the house semi-habitable, we ran up personal loans, bank loans and credit card debt. We moved in about 7 months back. We've very happy there.
I however, now have lawyers threatening me about these various loans and telling me that I should sell the house If I can\'t repay them. It will devastate my family and I if we have to sell after all we have endured.
I am working 9-5, unfortunately for less money that I once was. (There has been an influx of cheap labour into this country lately
which has reduced wage-rates.) I freelance as much as I possibly can - often working at night until the sun comes up. I have come to the
conclusion however that I cannot ever clear these debts without some assistance.
I would ask you, if you can spare anything, to please make a small donation. I cannot offer you anything except that you will be remembered in

I'm at a sudden moment of time for the holidays. I have had tended to tax liability. I had been out of work for a few months. I was able to carry over those months. Then, with the just get by wages on a job,where I was forced to resign because of bigotry. I was only able to carry so long. The unemployment filing has been 10 weeks. They allowed the employer to delay the case 12 hours before the hearing because a witness had an emergency. I believe they telling a lie because they know they were significantly wrong. I did my best to keep up with payments on transportation. Now, they are demanding in 10 days, $2000. If you are able to provide $1 to my paypal that is a thanks. If you can provide a bulk amount, I am willing to send installments for long as needed with a negotiation after first payment. This was my final year on the vehicle. Greetings! I never thought my life would come to this....Being a professional and single Mom of 2 teenage sons life is not as easy as one would hope for. I am paying my bills although just barely. I was so afraid of him taking my son away from me (he was only 3 at the time). I had 8 miscarriages before I had him, he is truly a God send. I did not tell on my husband and what he was planning to do.
In 1997 I plead no contest to arson and was sentenced to 10-20 years in prison.
I served 6 1/2 years in prison.
My son was almost 5 went I was locked up. I missed his first day of school and so much more. My parents raised him on their pension, my husband ditched him.
When I was released my son was starting the 7th grade. My dad was very ill and passed away 6 months after I got out. My mom has cancer and is still raising my son (he is now 15) because that has been his home for so long and he doesn't want to leave grandma all by herself.
We have a wonderful relationship.
I have no medical insurance. I am applying for food stamps. I haven't had cable for over a year. I don't go out to eat. I don't go to bars. I don't live in a fancy apartment. I haven't bought new clothes in over 2 years. I am just trying to make my way through life the best I can.
Due to my conviction, it is very hard for me to get a job. I look for work every day. I will take any job offered to me.
I do have health problems, depression, migraines, tendinitis, anxiety, arthritis. So a lot of jobs I cannot not do, but I try. I really do try.
I am trying to sell what I have that may be of some value to someone else. But I really don't have much.
