My husband had a really good job. He also has hep.C and Diabetes. This past month he really got sick and has been back and fourth to the doctors and even a couple trips to the hospital. Due to him missing so much work, they laid him off. We have an 11 year old son, an 8 year old daughter, a son who is 4, and a daughter who will be three next month. We paid our rent with the last check my husband recieved. Now we have absolutly nothing!! We really need help with anything anyone can help with. I will not specify because I do not like asking for help, but can tell you what we need. Also we can verify any information you need. I keep all paperwork (or try to :) Our three older kids start school next month and are in real need of school supplies and clothing. We really need help with food, we were getting food stamps and they had just stopped it because of my husbands income. I am in the process of getting it back, we just need help in the meantime. Our AT&T bill is way past due, and that concerns me, because when the kids start school, I need a way they can contact me in an emergency. Our trash bill is way late, as well as our car payment. Again I can verify any thing you need. We just really need the help right now.

Hello I am a disabled lady who needs funding for a wheelchair ramp to be built at my home in south central TN. I receive disability and husband is off work due to an injury to his shoulder. He is not getting workmen's comp yet and the steps are very hard for me to navigate. I have a serious back problem that makes my legs very weak and i fall a lot the ramp would be a lifesaver for me. With great humility we are writing this letter. We have been under excessive stress with our 16-year-old son John. Over the past 4-1/2 years we have had tremendous struggle with him. Our homes became an empty house full of negative energy with constant battles. We tried many different options with him and finally had to send him to a behavioral based Christen School in January of 2007.
We are writing to you in time of need. We have an opportunity to keep him in a facility that will help him deal with his behavioral issues. The principle behind this facility is for the student to learn the importance of rules, self worth, hard work and living productively in society. The facility appears to be an excellent fit.
Benefits for us as parents are support groups and continuing parent education seminars. At local support groups, parents have shared their stories of success and growth. These stories are very inspiring and give us hope.
The one challenge is the financial end. The cost per year for this facility is approx. $40,000 annually, which includes: room & board, tuition, meals, uniforms, evaluation, and counseling (both individual and group). The minimum stay is 14-18 months. As you can imagine the budget is already stretched to its capacity. Unfortunately, we are only able to come up with a mere fraction of what is necessary.
We are calling on you now for two reasons. First, our family needs your prayers. It is only by the grace of God and the many prayers from you that we are able to continue and make these tough decisions on our son's behalf. Second, any financial assistance you can give. We realize this is asking a lot. However, please pray about it and think of it as an investment in our son's future. No small amount is too small and no large amount is too large.
Our fear in sending this letter is that you may find this offensive. However, the true fear of losing our child at the age of 17 is far greater, especially if we didn't do all we could to help prevent it. We approach you in an honest and sincere direction. We need to act now to help our family.

I have been ill recently and my husband is in remission from cancer. We have always been ok (not great, but ok) with my pay, but I was seriously ill with bronchitis and pneumonia for approximately 4 months. Without insurance it took a bit longer to get well. I now have new employment secured( I lost my job) but I am 5 months behind on my mortgage and without me realizing it, they put the foreclosure ad in the paper and I am down to about 4 weeks before sale without knowing in advance. I am able to make the mortgage and also catch up the payments over the next 6 months( I actually got 2 fulltime jobs to try to make sure to make all payments from now on on time). I have approximately 25% equity in my home well worth over the 7,000 I need to catch up payments and pay lawyer fees, which would make them stop the process. I would be happy to let someone take the collateral on a second mortgage to catch up the first, but my credit is now trashed because of the illness and cannot get a traditional second mortgage without help. Is there someone that is able to loan the money with whatever repayment plan you require? I do not know what else to do. I am not worried about groceries although there are none at the moment till I get paid in 2 weeks, but I am deathly afraid of losing my house.
Hi I am new here and I am on a fixed income and for health reasons I need to have a gastric bypass surgery I have insurance but you have to have money to pay the dr, the nutritionist, and a Psychiatrists that you have to talk to before you have the surgery. My neighbor Cathy needs a double lung tranplant. Cathy Brindos is a 38-year-old mother of one child. She was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. In 2003, just days before Cathy was to graduate with an associate's degree, she was diagnosed with a rare and deadly disease, Pulmonary Hypertension.
Cathy is on an intravenous medication 24-hours a day and many other medications. She needs a lifesaving double lung transplant.
Until then, Cathy is fighting the battle of being well enough to get through the surgery at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and sick enough to qualify for the surgery.
Cathy's insurance does not cover such a tremendous burden of costs for post-transplant expenses and medications. She will need to immediately raise at least $50,000.

I am severely overweight and I have a myriad of health problems that I need help with. Hello. My name is Jennifer. I am requesting assistance for the sake of my family because I am in a situation that I know I will never be able to overcome without some help from our Guardian Angel. I am a Wife, Mom, Step-mom, Ninamom, & Grandmother. My husband & I have both worked very hard to support our family. But after his accident in June of 2002, our income DRASTICALLY decreased & we were forced to file for Bankruptcy. Then in November of 2002, my husband suffered his first of 6 heart attacks. He has had three angioplasties; his last one was in November of 2006. He's a Diabetic w/heart problems & back problems & is struggling w/depression & anxiety issues due to his inability to provide for his family like he used to. He visits the doctor on a monthly basis and is hospitalized about seven times per year. He takes 10 pills & 4 insulin shots daily which are not cheap! Due to his health he is disabled. I work full time as an office manager for a privately owned chiropractic office. Our combined income is barely enough to survive & w/costs rising, it is getting harder to live. Everything is past due or already cut off: 15k/medical; 5k/credit cards; $106/water; $122/propane; $176/phone; $172/cable; $70/electric; $1250/rent; $2483/IRS. Gas prices are killing me! I drive 45 miles to work one-way just to have a job w/decent salary. I haven't been grocery shopping in 6mo; if I pay the rent or the bills then I can't afford to buy food! The worst and most regrettable of my debt is I got caught up in the vicious cycle of payday loans just trying to provide for my family’s needs! I have 7 payday loans of $300 each. This is what is really killing me! If I could get the $2100 to pay off those payday loans & not have to re-apply for them, I would be in such a better position to pay my monthly household bills, buy my husbands medications and actually go grocery shopping! I've tried to get other loans but my credit is horrible as you can imagine. No one is willing to loan a hard working woman some money for a reasonable monthly payment and fair interest rate without checking my credit! I'm not looking for a hand out, just a second chance. I try to remind myself that no matter how bad we have it, someone out there has it worse. I am truly blessed in the way of family but unfortunately, that does not pay the bills, if it did, I'd be RICH! I've been thru many ups & downs w/my family & many scary situations. I have almost lost my husband a few times but thankfully, God decided it wasn’t his time to go yet. I've been homeless, jobless, auto less, hungry, hurt, and talked about, but something always gives. I've been sick for the last year and a half with auto-immune problems. Hi, My name is Jessica. Me and my fiancee have a beautful 6 year old son. Two years ago we where heartbroke to see our boy in ICU clinging to life. We where told he had asthma.He pulled threw thanks to prayer and god. A year later many doctors and medications later he was back in ICU clinging again. Seven specialist later we found out he was deadly allergic to indoor mold. We had our home inspected and found it in the walls celing and crwal space. We got an apartment and started tearing the house apart to get rid of the mold and remodel it to be safe for our son. Hello. My family needs help. Last year, my husband got VERY sick right about the time I found myself unexpectedly (I was on the pill!) pregnant- with TWINS! The twins are here now and my husband is still ill (which at one time was life threatening) but has recently gone back to work. I have had some major health problems myself, most of which have been resolved, although I will need two surgeries in the future.
We also have an 8 year old son. We had to borrow money for his school supplies this year and will have to borrow to get him some school clothes that fit properly because he grew a lot over the summer. We are now in debt and unable to make ends meet. This is not a permanent situation by any means, but things in the short term are quite dire.
We have two cars, one of which needs about $1500 in repairs, the other doesn't work at all. We are behind on our utilities and constantly under threat of them being cut off, and we are eating cheap, not very healthy food because we are feeding the whole family on food stamps. They don't go very far because my husband is working. We make sure our son and the twins get proper nutrition, but my husband and I are living on ramen noodles. We really need help right now- I suspect that with a little help, by the new year we'll be back on our feet again. Please help us.
We had to postpone/ cancel our 8 year old's upcoming birthday party because we couldn't afford the supplies, the venue (He wanted to have it at a skating rink), the cake, or presents.

I am a 18 year old who suffers from a thyroid condition where my thyroid is twice its size and is creating aintibodies against itself to kill my thyroid. due to this i am gaining weight even when i burn more calories then i eat. Hello, I live in a small town in Indiana and I am 34 years old. I have one six year old boy. I became ill, so I am disabled. my medical bills have piled up. I went to the hospital just a couple of times and my bill was $5,000. I became ill with Meningitis which causes alot of pain, especially in my head. There are so many other symptoms it causes which is sometimes scarry. I am going to need to go to the Doctor's office more in the future. I also have pre skin cancer which I have been cut on a few times and I am sure other treatments are to come. I just started going to college in physcology at home online which will give me a good future in about six to eight years, but now I am struggling. My sons father lives with us and makes minumum wage, but half of his check goes to fuel every month just to get to work. The rest of his check goes to all the other bills such as rent-$450 month car insurance-$100 month, utilities-$300 month, food-$200 month, clothes and still can't pay all of the bills with no money left over. I owe a student loan-$1,400 that needs to be paid and furniture-$122 month I have to pay on. I am 44 yrs old and had a massive stroke in Dec 07. I was okayed for SSI but cannot recieve insurance for hospitalizations or meds. I also have a 2cm cyst in my brain that is growing and it has already caused me to lose the hearing in my right ear and it is starting in my left now. I also need a brace for my right leg because my leg is starting to bow out. It is very hard to ask for help but someone please help I do not want to die. My SSI money covers my meds only. Hey everyone, I am a young 18 year old with a medical condition called Gynecomastia. Some refer to this as man-boobs, but let me assure you its not from being fat or lazy. I have recently lost a lot of weight with a lot of hard work, strict diet, and exercise, but due to this medical condition, the only way to have a normal chest is through surgery. Insurance unfortunately does not cover this, but it happens to so many men nationwide. It really affects our self-esteem and it kills us inside. Single Mom, Hospice Nurse (how ironic) battling cancer like many others. I have had 4 surgeries since December 2007. Medical bills unpaid, bill collectors calling, you know the same scenario many others find themselves in. We recently moved to California to be near the ocean because being able to watch and listen to the waves is relaxing. My name is Darlene Foy and I am the mother of a 2year old named Braxton. Braxton was born with trachea esophageal fistula.(half of an esophagus) Braxton has had 27 reconstructive surgeries but his esophagus kept deteriorating and it had to be removed. This is Braxtons first Christmas at home with family. He is on oxygen and is expected to have another surgery in January to make him an esophagus with his intestines. He eats through a Mic-key button right now. The problem we are having is that we live in an older home with gas heat. Braxton needs electric heat in the home. We recently found out that my son will be in his brace for another 4 months at least. But his brace is getting to small for them so the orthotist is going to try make a new helmet for it. But they won't see us until we pay our co pay for the helmet which is $800. We have to come up with this money for the sake of his treatment.
So we have to make the 2 hour drive south to get his brace fixed. The problem is is that it will take 12 hours for the mold to set on his helmet not to mention the time it will take to put the hardware on it. So they are telling me we will come in to get measured for it and the next day we will get the brace back. This is a 4 hour drive round trip and with gas and time, it makes more sense to just spend the night down there.
But with the $800 co pay we are tapped out. Literally nothing left. This is where I was hoping to get help from my wishuponahero friends. We don't need a fancy hotel by any means, just something to lay our heads on. Plus money for gas and food. In all honesty I never thought that I would get to this point in my life and I am really ashamed but I don't know what else to do.

Here is my story: I'm a person who has experienced health issues for the last 18 years of my life. I have had 19 surgeries and number 20 is fast approaching this month. They have ranged from hernia to foot to a complete hysterectomy and many others that would take awhile to list.
On top of all of these surgeries, I also have an auto-immune disease(currently with no cures that requires me to have routine chemo therapy sessions).
On one of my recent surgeries I was forced to live in a hotel for two months. Talk about expensive! This was due to having foot surgery and because at the time I lived on a second floor apartment. During this time, I was off work and a lot of bills came my way.
Other surgeries have made me miss more work because of restrictions and since my immune system is pretty much depleted, I seem to require more surgeries each year. So, between the combination of working part-time, not working at all for awhile and having all these surgeries, and my auto-immune disease has put me in a situation I would not want to see anyone else to be in- and that is having to charge to survive. And this is how I have arrived to where I am today.
In the past months- I have been cutting my living expenses, increased my hours at work when I can, and I even took a loan against my 401K- to survive. I hated to do this, but had no choice because I have to pay a portion of my routine chemo therapy sessions and also I am trying to pay off a part of my debt. It seems though, that no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to get ahead in getting my debt paid off.
This is where I am asking and hoping someone will be able to help me.

I am divorced and I became disabled with Lyme disease June of 1998. I met Peggie on the internet. I moved in with her shortly after. During our time together I have gutted her house room by room. Installing insulation, walls, electric, plumbing, bathroom, etc. About 3 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had her entire right breast removed, reconstructed, and had several stays in the hospital. I took care of her, including cleaning and dressing a wound large enough to hide a soup ladle in, and paying her bills. During this time I had ignored my 1st heart attack. I had the second one while on my way back to the hospital with her laundry. I had a Stent and angioplasty on two other arteries. I was out of the hospital in 4 days and was able to continue taking care of her. On Memorial Day weekend I had to go to the ER and had emergency open heart triple bypass with complications. I was in the hospital for 82 days. The social worker came to see me the day before I got out and told me that Peggie didn't want me to come home. She had me evicted. I had spent all of my money on her and her house. I have my name on many lists for housing. I will eventually get in. I am so far behind with medical bills I haven't been able to go to the doctor myself. My daughter has epilepsy for the last three and a half years and it's still not under control. We have no insurance. My license expired during my stay in the hospital. I never got my mail. Tax bills, car insurance bills, court date for a speeding ticket I got taking my daughter to the hospital last fall. That's when I found out about my expired license, when I got a ticket for that too. Too many times to count how often I don't eat for days. I am sleeping in my ex-wife’s un-heated garage in Connecticut. When my car broke down was the last straw. I have nothing left to give. No one to for ask help but strangers. My only living relative is my 62 year old sister in a North Carolina Hospice. She has brain cancer, and I can't even afford to go see her one last time before she's gone. My husband was recently diaganoised with Coronary Artery Disease, and Pulmonary problems that doctors in two states can not explain, except he may have blood clots going to his lungs and disapating. He is suppose to be on Nitrogen for his heart, choloesterol medication, a anit-depressent to relax the muscles in his stomach and esophagus, and he has ran out, and we have no way to get him any more. My name is Elaine and I am working through an endless and nasty divorce where my ex- is fighting for custody of one of our two children. My son has mental health issues as has been placed in a residential treatment center for abusive and destructive behaviors to which I hope he learns the tools needed to function in society. There is one thing that is out of my reach, which now has become medically necessary, since the alignment of my teeth is causing headaches. Hi my name is Priscilla, and I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 15. I am 28 now. In the past yr & 1/2 I have undergone 7+ surgeries. I have had multiple abscesses removed from my rectum. Hello there, My name is Tyler. The financial responsibilities in my household have become overbearing. My mother is a single mother now raising two 17 yr olds, a three year old, a four year old, and a 6 yr old. Im 21 and i live here to help her out. Growing up I went through many medical difficulties, including but not limited too 35 surgeries on my kidneys, eyes, nose, ears, and back. I have multiple autoimmune conditions and even with the insurance I have it is very expensive. I will also need to have surgeries done this year in the Spring and Summer. Plus I am in college full time and with the fatigue related to my condition it is very difficult to find work that also works with my schedule. I also have to pay $630 per month for rent and it has been impossible to find a suitable condition with roommates due to hygiene needed for my compromised immune system. I have applied for a grant with modest needs, but was turned down since I am not employed. I have appealed the rejection for disability but it is still in progress and does not help the current situation of covering rent, utilities, food, and medical costs from month to month. My parents are extremely financially stressed and cannot help. My father has been unemployed for quite some time. I don't know really where to ask since most sites want money and right now I cannot spare any extra and I am hoping to if I receive some help. I am a single mom of 3 teenagers. My 16 year old is in braces and needs oral surgery ASAP to remove a tooth that is preventing one that is impacted in the gum from coming down. I have been told this could cost between 1000 and 1200 dollars. HE has needed this for a while and I keep hoping his dad will send the money but he lives 5 hours away, is paying for the braces and doesn't feel it is his responsibility to pay for the oral surgery. My husband had a really good job. He also has hep.C and Diabetes.
This past month he really got sick and has been back and fourth to
the doctors and even a couple trips to the hospital. Due to him
missing so much work, they laid him off. We have an 11 year old son,
an 8 year old daughter, a son who is 4, and a daughter who will be
three next month. We paid our rent with the last check my husband
recieved. Now we have absolutly nothing!! We really need help with
anything anyone can help with. I will not specify because I do not
like asking for help, but can tell you what we need. Also we can

Our three older kids start school next month and are in real need of
school supplies and clothing. We really need help with food, we were
getting food stamps and they had just stopped it because of my
husbands income. I am in the process of getting it back, we just need
help in the meantime. Our AT&T bill is way past due, and that
concerns me, because when the kids start school, I need a way they
can contact me in an emergency. Our trash bill is way late, as well

Help w/ wheelchair ramp! PLEASE
Hello I am a disabled lady who needs funding for a wheelchair ramp to
be built at my home in south central TN. I receive disability and
husband is off work due to an injury to his shoulder. He is not
getting workmen's comp yet and the steps are very hard for me to
navigate. I have a serious back problem that makes my legs very weak
and i fall a lot the ramp would be a lifesaver for me. Any help with
limber or money order or checks to the lumber company here would be a
gift that would make my life so much easier.

With great humility we are writing this letter. We have been under
excessive stress with our 16-year-old son John. Over the past 4-1/2
years we have had tremendous struggle with him. Our homes became an
empty house full of negative energy with constant battles. We tried
many different options with him and finally had to send him to a
behavioral based Christen School in January of 2007.
We are writing to you in time of need. We have an opportunity to keep
him in a facility that will help him deal with his behavioral issues.
The principle behind this facility is for the student to learn the
importance of rules, self worth, hard work and living productively in
society. The facility appears to be an excellent fit.
Benefits for us as parents are support groups and continuing parent
education seminars. At local support groups, parents have shared
their stories of success and growth. These stories are very inspiring
and give us hope.
The one challenge is the financial end. The cost per year for this
facility is approx. $40,000 annually, which includes: room & board,
tuition, meals, uniforms, evaluation, and counseling (both individual
and group). The minimum stay is 14-18 months. As you can imagine the
budget is already stretched to its capacity. Unfortunately, we are
only able to come up with a mere fraction of what is necessary.
We are calling on you now for two reasons. First, our family needs
your prayers. It is only by the grace of God and the many prayers
from you that we are able to continue and make these tough decisions
on our son's behalf. Second, any financial assistance you can give.
We realize this is asking a lot. However, please pray about it and
think of it as an investment in our son's future. No small amount is
too small and no large amount is too large.
Our fear in sending this letter is that you may find this offensive.
However, the true fear of losing our child at the age of 17 is far
greater, especially if we didn't do all we could to help prevent it.

I have been ill recently and my husband is in remission from cancer. We
have always been ok (not great, but ok) with my pay, but I was
seriously ill with bronchitis and pneumonia for approximately 4
months. Without insurance it took a bit longer to get well. I now
have new employment secured( I lost my job) but I am 5 months behind on
my mortgage and without me realizing it, they put the foreclosure ad in
the paper and I am down to about 4 weeks before sale without knowing in
advance. I am able to make the mortgage and also catch up the payments
over the next 6 months( I actually got 2 fulltime jobs to try to make
sure to make all payments from now on on time). I have approximately
25% equity in my home well worth over the 7,000 I need to catch up
payments and pay lawyer fees, which would make them stop the process.
I would be happy to let someone take the collateral on a second
mortgage to catch up the first, but my credit is now trashed because of
the illness and cannot get a traditional second mortgage without help.
Is there someone that is able to loan the money with whatever repayment
plan you require? I do not know what else to do. I am not worried
about groceries although there are none at the moment till I get paid
in 2 weeks, but I am deathly afraid of losing my house.

My neighbor Cathy needs a double lung tranplant. Cathy Brindos is a 38-year-old mother of one child. She was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. In 2003, just days before Cathy was to graduate with an associate's degree, she was diagnosed with a rare and deadly disease, Pulmonary Hypertension.
Cathy is on an intravenous medication 24-hours a day and many other medications. She needs a lifesaving double lung transplant.
Until then, Cathy is fighting the battle of being well enough to get through the surgery at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and sick enough to qualify for the surgery.
Cathy's insurance does not cover such a tremendous burden of costs for post-transplant expenses and medications. She will need to immediately raise at least $50,000.

Hello. My name is Jennifer. I am requesting assistance for the sake of my family because I am in a situation that I know I will never be able to overcome without some help from our Guardian Angel. I am a Wife, Mom, Step-mom, Ninamom, & Grandmother. My husband & I have both worked very hard to support our family. But after his accident in June of 2002, our income DRASTICALLY decreased & we were forced to file for Bankruptcy. Then in November of 2002, my husband suffered his first of 6 heart attacks. He has had three angioplasties; his last one was in November of 2006. He's a Diabetic w/heart problems & back problems & is struggling w/depression & anxiety issues due to his inability to provide for his family like he used to. He visits the doctor on a monthly basis and is hospitalized about seven times per year. He takes 10 pills & 4 insulin shots daily which are not cheap! Due to his health he is disabled. I work full time as an office manager for a privately owned chiropractic office. Our combined income is barely enough to survive & w/costs rising, it is getting harder to live. Everything is past due or already cut off: 15k/medical; 5k/credit cards; $106/water; $122/propane; $176/phone; $172/cable; $70/electric; $1250/rent; $2483/IRS. Gas prices are killing me! I drive 45 miles to work one-way just to have a job w/decent salary. I haven't been grocery shopping in 6mo; if I pay the rent or the bills then I can't afford to buy food! The worst and most regrettable of my debt is I got caught up in the vicious cycle of payday loans just trying to provide for my family’s needs! I have 7 payday loans of $300 each. This is what is really killing me! If I could get the $2100 to pay off those payday loans & not have to re-apply for them, I would be in such a better position to pay my monthly household bills, buy my husbands medications and actually go grocery shopping! My name is Jessica. Me and my fiancee have a beautful 6 year old son. Two years ago we where heartbroke to see our boy in ICU clinging to life. We where told he had asthma.He pulled threw thanks to prayer and god. A year later many doctors and medications later he was back in ICU clinging again. Seven specialist later we found out he was deadly allergic to indoor mold. We had our home inspected and found it in the walls celing and crwal space. We got an apartment and started tearing the house apart to get rid of the mold and remodel it to be safe for our son. My fiancee's grandma gave us $5,000 to try to get it done well I got laid off in March. Hello. My family needs help. Last year, my husband got VERY sick right about the time I found myself unexpectedly (I was on the pill!) pregnant- with TWINS! The twins are here now and my husband is still ill (which at one time was life threatening) but has recently gone back to work. I have had some major health problems myself, most of which have been resolved, although I will need two surgeries in the future.
We also have an 8 year old son. We had to borrow money for his school supplies this year and will have to borrow to get him some school clothes that fit properly because he grew a lot over the summer. We are now in debt and unable to make ends meet. This is not a permanent situation by any means, but things in the short term are quite dire.
We have two cars, one of which needs about $1500 in repairs, the other doesn't work at all. We are behind on our utilities and constantly under threat of them being cut off, and we are eating cheap, not very healthy food because we are feeding the whole family on food stamps. They don't go very far because my husband is working. We make sure our son and the twins get proper nutrition, but my husband and I are living on ramen noodles. We really need help right now- I suspect that with a little help, by the new year we'll be back on our feet again. Please help us.

Hello, I live in a small town in Indiana and I am 34 years old. I have one six year old boy. I became ill, so I am disabled. my medical bills have piled up. I am 44 yrs old and had a massive stroke in Dec 07. I was okayed for SSI but cannot recieve insurance for hospitalizations or meds. Hey everyone, I am a young 18 year old with a medical condition called Gynecomastia. Some refer to this as man-boobs, but let me assure you its not from being fat or lazy. I have recently lost a lot of weight with a lot of hard work, strict diet, and exercise, but due to this medical condition, the only way to have a normal chest is through surgery. Insurance unfortunately does not cover this, but it happens to so many men nationwide. It really affects our self-esteem and it kills us inside. I haven't been to a pool since I was a child due to embarrassment and I never take my shirt off in front of others. I am not fat by any means, but there is a gland under my nipples which causes a "breast-like" shape. I've talked to my dad about this for the first time, and I literally broke down in tears from embarrassment, and we do not have the funds to take care of it at the moment so I am trying to raise money to cover surgery costs. Single Mom, Hospice Nurse (how ironic) battling cancer like many others. I have had 4 surgeries since December 2007. Medical bills unpaid, bill collectors calling, you know the same scenario many others find themselves in. We recently moved to California to be near the ocean because being able to watch and listen to the waves is relaxing. I have to continue to work because I have no other source of income and too many bills to pay. Some say my time is limited, but isn't everyone's? Attitude is everything. My name is Darlene Foy and I am the mother of a 2year old named Braxton. Braxton was born with trachea esophageal fistula.(half of an esophagus) Braxton has had 27 reconstructive surgeries but his esophagus kept deteriorating and it had to be removed. This is Braxtons first Christmas at home with family. He is on oxygen and is expected to have another surgery in January to make him an esophagus with his intestines. He eats through a Mic-key button right now. The problem we are having is that we live in an older home with gas heat. Braxton needs electric heat in the home. Also with gas as expensive as it is, we need electric. I could have bought a central heat and air unit last summer by Braxton's brother passed away and all I had went in to burying him. We recently found out that my son will be in his brace for another 4 months at least. But his brace is getting to small for them so the orthotist is going to try make a new helmet for it. But they won't see us until we pay our co pay for the helmet which is $800. We have to come up with this money for the sake of his treatment.
So we have to make the 2 hour drive south to get his brace fixed. The problem is is that it will take 12 hours for the mold to set on his helmet not to mention the time it will take to put the hardware on it. So they are telling me we will come in to get measured for it and the next day we will get the brace back. This is a 4 hour drive round trip and with gas and time, it makes more sense to just spend the night down there.
But with the $800 co pay we are tapped out. Literally nothing left. This is where I was hoping to get help from my wishuponahero friends. We don't need a fancy hotel by any means, just something to lay our heads on. Plus money for gas and food. I hate to ask but it's now or never... if we don't get his brace fixed in the next week or so, his whole treatment is ruined. Thanks so much for listening.

In all honesty I never thought that I would get to this point in my life and I am really ashamed but I don't know what else to do.

Here is my story: I'm a person who has experienced health issues for the last 18 years of my life. I have had 19 surgeries and number 20 is fast approaching this month. They have ranged from hernia to foot to a complete hysterectomy and many others that would take awhile to list.
On top of all of these surgeries, I also have an auto-immune disease(currently with no cures that requires me to have routine chemo therapy sessions).
On one of my recent surgeries I was forced to live in a hotel for two months. Talk about expensive! This was due to having foot surgery and because at the time I lived on a second floor apartment. During this time, I was off work and a lot of bills came my way.
Other surgeries have made me miss more work because of restrictions and since my immune system is pretty much depleted, I seem to require more surgeries each year. So, between the combination of working part-time, not working at all for awhile and having all these surgeries, and my auto-immune disease has put me in a situation I would not want to see anyone else to be in- and that is having to charge to survive. And this is how I have arrived to where I am today.
In the past months- I have been cutting my living expenses, increased my hours at work when I can, and I even took a loan against my 401K- to survive. I hated to do this, but had no choice because I have to pay a portion of my routine chemo therapy sessions and also I am trying to pay off a part of my debt. It seems though, that no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to get ahead in getting my debt paid off.
This is where I am asking and hoping someone will be able to help me.

I am divorced and I became disabled with Lyme disease June of 1998. I met Peggie on the internet. I moved in with her shortly after. During our time together I have gutted her house room by room. Installing insulation, walls, electric, plumbing, bathroom, etc. About 3 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had her entire right breast removed, reconstructed, and had several stays in the hospital. I took care of her, including cleaning and dressing a wound large enough to hide a soup ladle in, and paying her bills. During this time I had ignored my 1st heart attack. I had the second one while on my way back to the hospital with her laundry. I had a Stent and angioplasty on two other arteries. I was out of the hospital in 4 days and was able to continue taking care of her. On Memorial Day weekend I had to go to the ER and had emergency open heart triple bypass with complications. I was in the hospital for 82 days. The social worker came to see me the day before I got out and told me that Peggie didn't want me to come home. She had me evicted. I had spent all of my money on her and her house. I have my name on many lists for housing. I will eventually get in. I am so far behind with medical bills I haven't been able to go to the doctor myself. My daughter has epilepsy for the last three and a half years and it's still not under control. We have no insurance. My license expired during my stay in the hospital. I never got my mail. Tax bills, car insurance bills, court date for a speeding ticket I got taking my daughter to the hospital last fall. That's when I found out about my expired license, when I got a ticket for that too. Too many times to count how often I don't eat for days. I am sleeping in my ex-wife’s un-heated garage in Connecticut. When my car broke down was the last straw. I have nothing left to give. No one to for ask help but strangers. My only living relative is my 62 year old sister in a North Carolina Hospice. She has brain cancer, and I can't even afford to go see her one last time before she's gone. My husband was recently diaganoised with Coronary Artery Disease, and Pulmonary problems that doctors in two states can not explain, except he may have blood clots going to his lungs and disapating. He is suppose to be on Nitrogen for his heart, choloesterol medication, a anit-depressent to relax the muscles in his stomach and esophagus, and he has ran out, and we have no way to get him any more.

Hello, My name is David and i am currently a full time college student and at a local community college. My name is Elaine and I am working through an endless and nasty divorce where my ex- is fighting for custody of one of our two children. My son has mental health issues as has been placed in a residential treatment center for abusive and destructive behaviors to which I hope he learns the tools needed to function in society. I am a 26 year old single man, I have been to Iraq with the army. I recently was married and divorced soon theirafter. I have absolutely no teeth due to what they told me was an enamel deficiency. I have had all my teeth reemoved and dentures in place for about a year.

There is one thing that is out of my reach, which now has become medically necessary, since the alignment of my teeth is causing headaches. I take good care of my teeth, just got the raw end because of genetics. Had eight baby teeth but no adult teeth underneath, currently I have only 4 baby teeth left, three which are on the bottom. Pointy teeth, a lot of them have been sanded down. My one real front tooth is off centered. Since I was 11, I have worn partials. Now 31 (currently 6 teeth on partials, 5 on top 2 on bottom). Hi my name is Priscilla, and I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 15. I am 28 now. In the past yr & 1/2 I have undergone 7+ surgeries. I have had multiple abscesses removed from my rectum. My name is Tyler. The financial responsibilities in my household have become overbearing. My mother is a single mother now raising two 17 yr olds, a three year old, a four year old, and a 6 yr old. Im 21 and i live here to help her out. Growing up I went through many medical difficulties, including but not limited too 35 surgeries on my kidneys, eyes, nose, ears, and back. I am asking for help for my daughter. she has gastroperisis and has had it for a least 8 years. she is only 17 and a real sweet kid. we have been home schooling her because the pain she goes thru is terrible. she can't eat half the time, she's never been on a date, school event, has very few so called friends. she's a good christian and beleives the is good in everthing.

I have multiple autoimmune conditions and even with the insurance I have it is very expensive. I will also need to have surgeries done this year in the Spring and Summer. Plus I am in college full time and with the fatigue related to my condition it is very difficult to find work that also works with my schedule. I also have to pay $630 per month for rent and it has been impossible to find a suitable condition with roommates due to hygiene needed for my compromised immune system. I have applied for a grant with modest needs, but was turned down since I am not employed. I have appealed the rejection for disability but it is still in progress and does not help the current situation of covering rent, utilities, food, and medical costs from month to month. My parents are extremely financially stressed and cannot help. My father has been unemployed for quite some time. I don't know really where to ask since most sites want money and right now I cannot spare any extra and I am hoping to if I receive some help. I am a single mom of 3 teenagers. My 16 year old is in braces and needs oral surgery ASAP to remove a tooth that is preventing one that is impacted in the gum from coming down. I have been told this could cost between 1000 and 1200 dollars. HE has needed this for a while and I keep hoping his dad will send the money but he lives 5 hours away, is paying for the braces and doesn't feel it is his responsibility to pay for the oral surgery.
