Hi, my name is Megan Bliss and I am 20 years old. I'm not going to give some sob story, exaggerate my life, or give you any bs; I'm going to give you the truth. I am a nursing student at a little school in southern Indiana. I've dreamed a long time about being a nurse and now it's finally happening. However, I made need to drop out this next semester because I need to get a second job to pay off all my debt. I pay for all my own college, my parents do not help and I have foolishly gotten credit cards to help me pay for food and bills, because I live on my own. My mother and I don't have the best of relationships and I moved out when I was 16. My rent is $635 a month, utilities are about $260 a month, on top of that I pay $150 for my car payment and $60 for my insurance. Now, that isn't so bad, I make about $1100 a month. However I have 14 credit cards and the total on those is $36,798.38 as of today Nov. 3, 2008. My monthly payments all added together for credit card debt is about $700 a month. And my school loans total $36,000 as of this semester. I know it is my fault for racking that much debt up, but I am just trying to survive. I'm not from a great background - my parents are still together sure, but we aren't very well off, my parents can't afford to finance me anymore than they already have. I work as much as possible part time in a local pub alongside my studies and save every last penny I can. In order for me to be able to practice Law I need my LPC which I'm planning on studying in Sheffield. This alone costs £10,000, as well as living costs etc. I am in debt - probably around £5,000 worth of debt by the time you've added everything up, and that's excluding my student loans.
I've been to every bank, building society and loan company around and nowhere is willing to help me. I'm so, so desperate to get my LPC and being working in law doing what I've always wanted so I can have a better life for myself and help my parents pay off their bills.
If you can help at ALL I would be eternally grateful. There's not much I can promise in return, just that I will study my absolute hardest and be the best I absolutely can be with the help given.

My mother and I became partners together rasing not only my children but the 4 siblings I had left at home. We became interdependent on each other and it evenually led to our familly turning in on itself.
in 2007 we decided that enough was enough and my mother went home to her familly and I moved to Louisiana and went to school for Massage Therapy.
My mother kept my children for what was supposed to be a year so that I could get a chance to go back to school and do something with my life that would allow me to be available to my children.
Unfortunatelly we had a familly crisis and the children had to come here 2 months before I graduated. I had to quit school and concentrate on working as has happened to me so many times.
Over the last year I have had many blessings and have as a single mother of 4 survived in an area with no familly. But working 50 hours a week and trying to keep up with the kids homework and house work and tending to the emotional needs of four children who have been drug through the ringer is impossible.
I started back to school in july but it is impossible for me to work and get everything else i need to do done.
Because I go to a career school I am not elegible for student loans that cover living expenses. My credit is shot from my ex and years of scrapping by.
I tried to get a title loan on my van to get me through the next two months but since I left my job they wont help.

I was recently suspended from my job, and have been applying to nearly craigslist ad I can, with no luck, or not enough experience to qualify. I'm hoping to return to my job, but it doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.
I suffer from Anxiety Disorder, which means I get anxiety in certain situations, and it often leads to panic attacks with symptoms such as nausea, severe stomach cramps, "hot flashes", tremors, faintness, dizziness, and the like. I have been under treatment for this disorder for 2 years. I recently, however, was forced to quit the medication I was taking (Cymbalta, you should google it) cold turkey, which is STRONGLY advised against due to serious withdrawal side effects, because I did not have the money to pay for it or the doctor's visits required to obtain the prescription for it. The symptoms were so severe that I was calling out of work constantly, and one day it got so bad I just went up to my boss and said, "I'm leaving, I can't stay here." I was written up for all of these instances and eventually put on suspension for all of these write-ups. I suppose, in some way, this was my fault, but I was too embarrassed, too scared, to tell her that I suffer from a mental illness. Recently, I have been trying to get my job back, but with little luck. They just keep demanding doctors' notes and letters explaining this and that and the other thing, constantly. It's been almost 2 months since I've worked, and I'm completely broke. I am thousands of dollars in debt, specifically from student loans, and I had to scrape together the last remaining bit of cash I had to pay for one class at the local community college, because school is very important to me.
The bottom line is, I need help. I need to pay my bills so that I can have the basic human dignity of not begging for money, so that I can have transportation and a phone and an education. Because right now, I'm going nowhere. It's a vicious cycle that keeps getting worse and worse, and I'm looking for that light at the end of the tunnel, the boost I need to get myself back on track.

****FULLTIME NURSING STUDENT**** **ONLY 8 MONTHS LEFT!!** I am here requesting some help with school. I am a fulltime nursing student and have applied to many scholarships, grants, financial aide etc, and haven't gotten much help at all. I have a learning disability and that really takes all my time trying to keep up with courseload so it's extra hard for me, which nursing school is already EXTREMELY hard as it is. I could really use some help for covering my outrageous rent it is $630 a month. I would love to find somewhere less expensive but it is difficult to find accept and find roommates due to multiple autoimmune concerns and I cannot tolerant a lot of normal conditions due to severe allergies and a compromised immune system. I also have intestinal problems so it is best to have a private bathroom due to the uncomfortable symptoms associated with this condition. Despite medical insurance the cost of medical monthly is very high due to having 15 chronic prescriptions not to mention very regular doctor appointments. I could really use the help for rent and food. I cannot digest processed food so I have to prepare things fresh (malabsorption is also a problem I have.) I am disabled due to mental illness. I was in the restaurant industry as a cook before my breakdown and now I cannot return to work in this field due to the stress. I tried it several times and each time my symptoms return. I dont have any other trade where I can make money, so I decided to go to college and get a degree in film focusing on screenwriting. I know I can do this at my own pace and in the comfort of my own home. It has been my life long passion (since early college ten years ago) to teach in the fields of government and history. My name is Sandy. My husband was recently diagnosed with Persistent Congestive Heart Failure. He has been off work since March 2008 and was hospitalized in March & June due to CHF, low 02 levels & shortness of breath. Hello. I have fell victim to 3 casses of Domestic Abuse. I am in the process of divorce and ready to procecute my abuser. Prior to recent divorce, I was a stay-at-home mom. My husband hoarded our bank accounts and controlled much of my life. I am getting stronger everyday! I have two small children. One is 3.5 years old and the other is 1.5. We have moved into a small apt. during this divorce. In addition, I was going to school to get my Eathetician License and had to drop out due to inablility to get daycare for my children on weekends. I am a nursing student at a little school in southern Indiana. I've dreamed a long time about being a nurse and now it's finally happening.
However, I made need to drop out this next semester because I need to get a second job to pay off all my debt.
I pay for all my own college, my parents do not help and I have foolishly gotten credit cards to help me pay for food and bills, because I live on my own. My mother and I don't have the best of relationships and I moved out when I was 16.
My rent is $635 a month, utilities are about $260 a month, on top of that I pay $150 for my car payment and $60 for my insurance. Now, that isn't so bad, I make about $1100 a month. However I have 14 credit cards and the total on those is $36,798.38 as of today Nov. 3, 2008. My monthly payments all added together for credit card debt is about $700 a month. And my school loans total $36,000 as of this semester.
I know it is my fault for racking that much debt up, but I am just trying to survive. I don't have anything nice to show for it, just gas in my car and a roof over my head. I am using my schools computer, I don't waste my money on the internet.
I don't want to not make it through nursing because of this weight of debt and I don't want collection agencies coming after me, I already have two.

in 2007 we decided that enough was enough and my mother went home to her familly and I moved to Louisiana and went to school for Massage Therapy.
My mother kept my children for what was supposed to be a year so that I could get a chance to go back to school and do something with my life that would allow me to be available to my children.
Unfortunatelly we had a familly crisis and the children had to come here 2 months before I graduated. I had to quit school and concentrate on working as has happened to me so many times.
Over the last year I have had many blessings and have as a single mother of 4 survived in an area with no familly. But working 50 hours a week and trying to keep up with the kids homework and house work and tending to the emotional needs of four children who have been drug through the ringer is impossible.
I started back to school in july but it is impossible for me to work and get everything else i need to do done.
Because I go to a career school I am not elegible for student loans that cover living expenses. My credit is shot from my ex and years of scrapping by.
I tried to get a title loan on my van to get me through the next two months but since I left my job they wont help.

Well, in a nutshell, I was engaged sharing joint equal custody of my children with my ex wife. Then all this happened since winter:
- Lost kids in custody battle.
- Lost house as rent increased (moved into parents attic at 29!!)
- Declared bankruptcy with fiance
- Fiance broke engagement and moved back to Vegas.
- Then last week, I was fired for missing a day of work because I had a nervous breakdown but didn't go to the doctor and get a note.
- So then I made a half ass attempt at suicide. Didn't work and realized I'm not ready to kill myself yet and I want to try.
I want to get my life back together and go to school, but my defaulted student loans for 2689.00 are keeping me from getting grants and aid. I'm trying to get a job, and have faith I will. I'm going back to school to get my life together and get a job and make myself into a REAL MAN who can take care of himself and therefore those around him So I can get my kids back and then my fiance back and live a normal sane life! Not in fear of losing EVERYTHING again. I've hit bottom, it is only up from here....
So all that is left is to BEG for someone to help me pay off my stafford loans in default listed as the amount required, 2689.00 to allow me to go to school and work hard to be a MAN!!
So I beg, with all my heart and soul that someone help me lift this roadblock from in front of me, so that I may have a life and have my children back!!!!!
I swear by this, if someone can help I will owe them my life, because that is what they will be giving back to me.

Hello... my name is Nisha and I am in way over my head with student loan debt. Like so many others, I took out loans to cover the cost of college tuition thinking it would be easy to find a good-paying job upon graduation and I would be able to pay them off. Instead, I'm stuck living with my parents with very little hope of ever getting out on my own (at least not in the forseeable future) and the bills are piling up higher and higher. My name is Toni. I'm 23 and in desperate financial straits. I receive little to no help from my parents, and currently do not even have enough money to put gas in my car to drive it. I am months behind on student loans and other payments, and I do not have a cell phone because I couldn't pay the bill. I'm new to this site, because it has always gone against the way I was raised to ask for help, but I feel that this situation warrants it.
I was recently suspended from my job, and have been applying to nearly craigslist ad I can, with no luck, or not enough experience to qualify. I'm hoping to return to my job, but it doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.
I suffer from Anxiety Disorder, which means I get anxiety in certain situations, and it often leads to panic attacks with symptoms such as nausea, severe stomach cramps, "hot flashes", tremors, faintness, dizziness, and the like. I have been under treatment for this disorder for 2 years. I recently, however, was forced to quit the medication I was taking (Cymbalta, you should google it) cold turkey, which is STRONGLY advised against due to serious withdrawal side effects, because I did not have the money to pay for it or the doctor's visits required to obtain the prescription for it. The symptoms were so severe that I was calling out of work constantly, and one day it got so bad I just went up to my boss and said, "I'm leaving, I can't stay here." I was written up for all of these instances and eventually put on suspension for all of these write-ups. I suppose, in some way, this was my fault, but I was too embarrassed, too scared, to tell her that I suffer from a mental illness. Recently, I have been trying to get my job back, but with little luck. They just keep demanding doctors' notes and letters explaining this and that and the other thing, constantly. It's been almost 2 months since I've worked, and I'm completely broke. I am thousands of dollars in debt, specifically from student loans, and I had to scrape together the last remaining bit of cash I had to pay for one class at the local community college, because school is very important to me.
The bottom line is, I need help. I need to pay my bills so that I can have the basic human dignity of not begging for money, so that I can have transportation and a phone and an education. Because right now, I'm going nowhere. It's a vicious cycle that keeps getting worse and worse, and I'm looking for that light at the end of the tunnel, the boost I need to get myself back on track.

I am here requesting some help with school. I am a fulltime nursing student and have applied to many scholarships, grants, financial aide etc, and haven't gotten much help at all. I feel devastated and don't know what I'm going to do to get through school the last year. I have a learning disability and that really takes all my time trying to keep up with courseload so it's extra hard for me, which nursing school is already EXTREMELY hard as it is. I usually spend 60 hours a week at school or studying which is a fulltime job in itself and cuts into my chances at having anytime left for a job. Added to all of that, where I live they are on a hiring freeze in the healthcare industry. I'm 8 months away from graduation and I don't know how I'm going to pay any bills, or buy groceries or even how I'm going to have gas to get to school. I am very upset with how hard, financially, it is on medical students when there is such a nursing shortage! You would think they would make it soo easy and aeveryone would get help since the governement is the one who is saying there is such a huge shortage. There is but half the people I know who graduated still don't have jobs a year later, and nurses are usually hired right after graduation!! I HAVE TRIED ALL MY OPTIONS, EVERY SINGLE SCHOLARSHIP, GRANT, LOAN PROGRAM, WORK STUDY EVERYTHING LITTERALLY! SO NOW I'M LEFT WITH BEGGING. I have been turned down in writing by 5 different scholarships just in the last week! (So much for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act they passed in February, that's going to be used 2010-2011 school year, which won't include me.) I don't want to give up going to school, but I might be forced to! I care alot about becoming a nurse and it's been my life and my whole heart for 4 years now, please please if you can help me in any way possible big or small it would be greatly appreciated, and never forgotten. I pray I can get some help from someone!

I could really use some help for covering my outrageous rent it is $630 a month. I would love to find somewhere less expensive but it is difficult to find accept and find roommates due to multiple autoimmune concerns and I cannot tolerant a lot of normal conditions due to severe allergies and a compromised immune system. I also have intestinal problems so it is best to have a private bathroom due to the uncomfortable symptoms associated with this condition. Despite medical insurance the cost of medical monthly is very high due to having 15 chronic prescriptions not to mention very regular doctor appointments. I could really use the help for rent and food. I cannot digest processed food so I have to prepare things fresh (malabsorption is also a problem I have.) I can verify this information and welcome any correspondence to know someone found this and is concerned.
